Bournville Parish Church, St. Francis of Assisi is part of the world-wide Anglican church and the Church of England.
A church for the whole community, we seek to offer warm welcome, compassionate care to those seeking it, and space for the celebration and honouring of life’s major events.
‘St Francis Church is a place where my questions and uncertainties have been safely held’.
Our church family holds space for people of all ages, backgrounds, and traditions because we believe that this reflects the heart of God.
We value our connection with Inclusive Church and their guidance in shaping a church that celebrates and affirms every individual and does not discriminate. Our Inclusion, Accessibility, and Engagement Group was established to support this ethos, ensuring that we think carefully about all aspects of the life of our church and wider community.
We cherish invited opportunities to be alongside people at significant moments of their lives. When offering care, support, and celebration in these events, we seek to reflect the life, beliefs, and convictions of those concerned.

It is a joy to work in close partnership with St. Francis Youth and Community Centre, opening our beautiful spaces in ways that can enrich the lives of our community.
You can find out more about the different groups that meet in the church on our What’s On page and the work of St Francis Youth and Community Centre.
We are proud to hold space for a variety of worshipping communities, each reflecting distinct Christian traditions. At the heart of all of our worship, we recognise an invitation to enter more fully into the life of Christ. You can find out more about the different ways we gather to worship God.
We also delight in our membership of Churches Together in B30 and the Deanery of Kings Norton, Moseley, and Shirley. We are committed to deepening ecumenical relationships, which help us to learn and grow.
It is a pleasure to work collaboratively with other churches in our oversight area, such as Cotteridge Church, The Ascension Stirchley, St Mary’s Hazelwell, St Bede’s Brandwood, and All Saint’s Kings Heath.
Environmental responsibility is important to us and we are committed to making impactful choices that reflect this. In 2025 we were thrilled to receive a Silver A Rocha Eco-Church award. Find out more about the work of our Eco-Church group.
